This sheep breed is also called March sheep. It is raised in the coastal areas of strong soil and abundant grass called March in the northern parts of Germany and is considered a breed adapted to the humid cool sea climate.
The most important breed characteristics are that it gives plenty of milk and gives birth to many lambs in one litter. It is not a large herd animal. They are mostly raised in home flocks of 3-5 and sometimes 8-10 heads. Meat yield and meat quality are good.
